Better Late Than Never? 10 From 2010

My list is a bit late. Crazy Spirit, Milk Music, Gun Outfit and Nerveskade didn't make the list because I'm still waiting for actual physical copies of their records to show up in my mailbox. I didn't include any reissues but if I had The Endtables definitely would be included. So would the Protex Strange Obsessions LP (I mean Protex is just so dreamy, right?).

Here is why I love Nerveskade:

10. Marked Men-On/The Other Side EP
One banger and one ballad. I listen to Marked Men everyday so how could I make a list without including them?

9. Deskonocidos- En La Oscuridad LP
Gloomy and dark yet totally melodic and catchy hardcore from Texas.

8. Condominium- Gag EP
Gag is slow and plodding, dark and twisted, this 7" ties my stomach in knots. I often listen to Condominium late at night when I can't sleep on my headphones with all the lights off...

7. Boston Strangler- Outcast Demo
This sounds like all my favorite east coast bands without sounding tired and old. NOT FOR THE WEAK. This is tough as shit. I hear there's an LP on it's way...I can't wait, I WANT MORE.

6. Mens Interest- More War EP
I'd been waiting to hear this ever since I first heard a copy of the demo. Maniac hardcore. Shaun is hands down one of the best singers in hardcore. Would it hurt to have included song titles?

4.&5. Glam s/t ep and Crimen De Estado/Sudor LP
Barcelona has been producing some of the best punk in the world over the past couple of years. Raw and chaotic punk at its finest. I haven't heard the new Firmeza 10 lp yet but there's a good chance it'd be on this list too.

3. Eddy Current Suppression Ring- Rush To Relax LP
What's so wrong about singing songs about being nice to ladies?

2. Kriegshog LP
Noise and distortion. New wave of Brutality and Hardcore Massacre. Purpose might be the best song I've heard all year.

1. Slices- Cruising LP
The first time I heard Cruising I felt sick. My ears hurt, I was dizzy, nauseated, my throat dry…If any record could cause an anxiety attack this would be that album. It's ugly, angry and grating yet perfect. Can't get enough.
